Meet Matthew R Whipple, DMD
Dr. Whipple is a native of Warren, Pennsylvania. He attended The Pennsylvania State University where he earned his BS in Biology with a focus on neuroscience. Dr. Whipple attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and upon graduation was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
Dr. Whipple completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Veterans Affairs of Western New York hospital in Buffalo, NY. Before relocating to Cortland, Dr. Whipple was in private practice in East Aurora, NY. He has taken over 500 hours of continuing education, including extensive dental implant training through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry MaxiCourse.
Dr. Whipple also holds certifications in Conscious Sedation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Dr. Whipple’s favorite aspect of dentistry is the blending of the arts and sciences, and he enjoys using these skills to improve the lives of his patients. He practices all aspects of general dentistry including complex dental rehabilitation, root canals, extractions, dental implant placement, and restoration. He also continues to be a guest lecturer for the current residents of the Veterans Affairs of Western New York hospital.
He has over ten years’ experience in implant dentistry placing and restoring hundreds of dental implants working exclusively with the Biohorizons dental implant system. He has extensive experience with complex dental implant cases, complications, and has worked on full arch cases for many years.
When he is not working, Dr. Whipple can be found enjoying the wonderful outdoor activities of Central New York with his wife, three children, and their chocolate lab Ritter. He enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, and hiking.
